Bath Time Cuties!

One of my favorite times of the day is giving these two cuties a bath together and watching them play!  Aaah, brothers!

Weekday Fave: Grapevine Public Library!

On the weekdays, we love going to the Grapevine Public Library to read, play and check out new books!  It is a great afternoon activity/outing when its too cold to play outside.  Additionally, Krish loves reading and checking out new books while Arjun plays in the baby/tot play area.  Krish also loves getting some computer activity time while we're there as well.  Recently, we were lucky to have Daddy come with us, and Krish and Daddy checked out a bunch of new books about sports!  Among Krish's other favorites are The Berenstain Bears collection, the Curious George collection, and the popular Disney favorites such as Frozen and Cars.  While in Houston, Krish and I regularly attended a toddler library class once or twice a week.  We read stories, sang and danced to songs, watched a puppet show, and did a craft project in the end.  We loved it!  I'm looking forward to starting classes with Arjun too now as soon as he's ready to push back his morning nap!

basketball, baseball, soccer, hockey, and specific teams
and players.  Krish loves learning about sports so much!  He asks
so many intelligent questions too!

The Dallas Arboretum: Another Weekend Favorite!

We love having a family membership to the Dallas Arboretum!  Although it is quite a drive from our house, it has always been worth it!  They also recently opened the Rory Myers Children's Adventure Garden that is just a perfect outdoor activity for the kids!  We recently went back in a winter month (January) for the first time.  We usually go in the fall to see the Pumpkin Village and in the spring to see the tulips, so we were curious to see what the Arboretum looked like in the winter.  During the Christmas holidays, they have nice poinsettia and angel displays (which we missed), but when we went in January, it was pretty much dead.  Nonetheless, we enjoyed a quiet, peaceful walk and wagon ride through the grounds, and the kids had tons of fun playing in the frog fountains!

We are planning on going there again today with Ba and Dada now that the tulips are in full bloom and the children's garden is open again!  The weather is gorgeous, and we can't wait!

Top Golf: One of our Favorite Weekend Activities!

Besides actually playing golf on a course, we enjoy going to Top Golf too, a place where golf and family/social entertainment come together!  In addition to a driving range experience, Top Golf is similar to a sports bar for all ages.  Back in January, we went with Dada, and the boys had so much fun learning shuffle board and hitting balls with him!

Just last weekend, we went there with our good friends from college, Pallavi (my grad school roommate), Ashwin (Neil's med school classmate), and their two kids Raj (4, Krish's friend) and Ria (2).  It was so great to see them again after such a long time, and Krish and Raj have so much in common.  They are both obsessed with sports!  They had so much fun playing putt-putt and hitting balls out on the range!  While the whole family played mini golf together, Pallavi and I took Ria and Arjun to Whole Foods for dinner when the boys continued at Top Golf to hit balls.  The whole evening was wonderful, and we look forward to seeing our friends again soon!

Mama's Little Helper!

One of my favorite hobbies is baking, and what better way to enjoy my favorite hobby than to do it with my son!  I'm so lucky that Krish enjoys baking with me, and I take advantage of it while I can.  Who knows when/if he will grow out of this interest!

I also really enjoy preparing the themes for the boys' birthday parties, and what's even better is that Krish likes to get involved!  Therefore, I had to have him help me make the special Dallas Cowboys cookie pops we were going to make for all his friends at his party.  We had so much fun baking together, and I cherish these moments dearly!  I hope they are just as great memories for him as they are for me!

He's so enthusiastic and into it!  I love it!

Happy 4th Birthday, Krish!

On Saturday, February 8th, our sweet, little boy, Krish, turned four years old!  We can't believe how big he's getting and how fast he's growing!  He's already four and converses with you like a little kid.  He is so much fun to talk to and watch, as he learns and grasps concepts in the world around him!  He has an amazing enthusiasm for learning new things (but not trying new foods - he's still a picky eater), and while he is becoming a total boy now, he still enjoys spending time crafting and baking with me!  He is definitely my little buddy and Daddy's mini-me (given his love for the Cowboys and all sports). We love all the great, quality time we get to spend with him and cherish every second of it!
Krish Shah, we are so proud of you and love you very, very much!

Since Krish's birthday fell on a Saturday this year, his birthday party was on the same day!  We celebrated at JumpStreet in Plano, next to Ba and Dada's house.  Kids from his Primrose class, Texas TOTS playgroup, La Villita neighborhood and Carrollton/family group attended.  Everyone had a blast jumping on the trampolines, bounce houses, cube pits, and riding the inner tube slides.  Krish's theme was probably his favorite yet, the Dallas Cowboys, of course!  Everyone was very festive and came dressed in their favorite gear.  It was a party to remember.  Our little boy is so loved!
