Krish and his Love for Choo Choo Trains!

When Dada and Ba came to visit, we took Krish out for his current favorite activity!  We went to Memorial City Mall to take a ride on the choo choo train!  Krish had the time of his life!  He absolutely loves choo choo trains, and he felt so special riding in one.  He is learning so much about them through all the Thomas and Chuggington story books we check out at the library.  For instance, he knows that the Engineer drives the train, the Conductor rides in the coaches and collects the tickets, and the Fireman takes care of the coal and water in the tender.

He loves saying "chugga chugga chugga chugga choo choo!" when he's on a train ride or when we're pretending at home.  He also loves listening to various children's songs about trains, such as "I've Been Working on the Railroad", "Down by the Station", "Thomas and Friends Roll Call",  "Chuggington", and the "Choo Choo Soul" songs.  His current favorite train character is Thomas the Tank Engine, and he can often be heard professing his love for Thomas around the house: "I love Thomas!"  I would be lying if I said it didn't make Mommy and Daddy just a little bit jealous! :)

He is also so polite and makes sure to say hi and thank you to the conductor.  He is always looking for the conductor too, asking, "Where did Conductor go?"  As soon as the whistle toots and the bell rings, he recognizes them and points them out.  He is learning so much, and it is really exciting to see him develop such a passionate interest in things now.

Krish's First Experience Roller Skating!

This past Friday, Krish and I joined our playgroup for toddler time at the local roller skating rink.  Krish was so excited about the prospect of roller skating for the first time!  We have read a few books about roller skating together so he was anticipating this day and knew exactly what to expect.  When we got to the rink, he couldn't wait to put his roller skates on try them out!  He was so proud of them and himself for trying to skate for the first time.  Needless to say, it was a very wobbly and slippery first time experience, but Mommy and Krishy had the best time trying it out together!  He quickly changed out of his skates so he could join the other toddlers running around the rink with their roller toys, but he was such a great sport!  He had a wonderful time, and I know he looks forward to learning again when he's a little bit older. :)

Krishy Loves His New East Asian Outfit!

Tricia Masi recently came back from her trip to Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam and brought back the cutest little East Asian attire for Krish as a souvenir!  He was thrilled to see her back and absolutely loved wearing his new outfit and matching hat with Tricia Masi!  The traditional attire is so silky that he felt so handsome in it.  He immediately pointed to himself and said "Krishy look handsome!"  Thank you Tricia Masi for the sweet and thoughtful present!

Singing in the Rain!

It has been raining non-stop in Houston for a little over a week now.  Poor Krish has not been able to play outside or go to the pool in days!  With this change in weather pattern though, he, of course, found a new activity he couldn't resist!  And lucky for us, we got to hear Krish's beautiful singing voice! He is the cutest, little singer with the sweetest voice I've ever heard!

Happy 4th of July!

This year, we celebrated the 4th of July by going to The Children's Museum of Houston with Nani and Nana.  It was Krish's first visit to the museum, and he was absolutely mesmerized by all the different displays and activity stations.  The sheer volume of activities the museum had to offer was simply breathtaking!  Krish learned about gears, shapes, gravity, buoyancy, pistons, and much more.  His favorite activities were the toddler zone, the gear station, the water works stations, and discovering multiple reflections of himself in the funhouse mirrors.  He was also fascinated to learn about Daddy's and Ba's profession as Doctors by checking the vitals of a make-believe patient inside an ambulance!

Where did all these Krishs come from?!

To commemorate Independence Day, the museum hosted a parade that completely captivated Krish.  He really had a fun-filled and action-packed 4th of July this year!  If only he had the energy to stay up late to watch the fireworks at night... :)
