We got a White Christmas!

It's snowing in Dallas!

Merry Christmas!!  We had quite a busy and family-filled Christmas this year!  In addition, we were lucky enough to have snow here in Dallas on Christmas day!  It snowed for four hours straight in the middle of the afternoon.  The entire town was covered in a beautiful, white blanket of snow.  It was absolutely breathtaking!  The next morning, we had a wonderful time exploring the snow outside our house while Masis were here visiting for the holidays.

Our Little Boy 10 Days New!

The days are flying by so fast with our new little guy that it is hard to keep up with all his developments!  He is already 17 days today (about 2 1/2 weeks)!  He is growing so fast!  He has already had his 1 week and 2 week check-ups and is now weighing 8 lbs.!  He is very alert when he is awake and just started getting tummy time this week.  A week ago, at 10 days, we managed to capture a wonderful picture of him looking right at the camera while he was awake.  Now that he is awake more often, we are all truly enjoying playing and interacting with him all the time!

Arjun's First Bath!

This past weekend, Arjun received his first bath since his umbilical cord fell off, and he absolutely loved it!  He loved being bathed in the warm water and cleaned up from spit ups and poopy diapers!  Of course Mommy and Daddy enjoyed every second of bathing him!  It definitely brought back memories of Krish's first bath and his early bath days.

Learning how to be a Big Brother!

In preparation for baby brother Arjun's arrival, we attended a sibling education class at Dallas Presbyterian Hospital so that Krish could learn all about being a helpful big brother!  In the class, Krish learned a lot about babies: how babies sleep a lot; they cry when they are hungry, sleepy, or have a wet diaper; they cannot talk; and they need to be handled gently and under Mommy or Daddy's supervision.  Krish also learned how to change a baby's diaper and how to swaddle a baby!  (The swaddling lesson was a great refresher for Mommy and Daddy!)

Our swaddled baby!  Now we're ready to swaddle Arjun!

Krish loved taking care of the baby doll we used in the class!  He treated it like a real baby and handled it so well!  It was so sweet!  At the end of the class, we took a tour of the hospital's labor and delivery wing and the newborn nursery unit.  Krish couldn't put his baby doll down and so he carried him all through the hospital tour.  It was seriously the cutest thing Neil and I had ever seen!  Krish was by far the youngest in the class and the dolls were so heavy!  The baby started out swaddled nicely and cradled in Krish's arms and ended the tour being held upside down with the swaddle blanket dragging on the floor behind Krish.  Neil and I couldn't help but laugh, because as heavy as that baby was, Krish would not let go of it or let anybody else "help him" hold it.  He felt so proud and responsible for his baby.

Seeing Krish's response to the class, Neil and I immediately knew that he would be an amazing big brother and really embrace his role as Mommy's special helper.  And low and behold, now that Arjun is here, Krish is completely in love with his baby brother and truly considers him to be "his baby"!

Brotherly Love!

Ever since Arjun was born, Krish cannot stop smothering him with love, i.e. hugs and kisses!  He loves his baby brother so much!  It is the most precious and amazing thing I have ever seen and brings so much joy to all of us in the family to see how much love Krish has for his brother.  I am also so proud and happy to see them cultivating a relationship already!

So Many Beautiful Smiles for Rina Masi!

Yesterday, Rina Masi came over to visit Arjun since she last saw him in the hospital, and he was so happy to see her!  He conversed with her through his facial expressions and gave her so many gorgeous smiles!  It truly melted Mommy's heart to see those beautiful smiles on his tiny face.  And I'm not going to lie, it made Mommy and Daddy a little jealous that we could not get Arjun to replicate his expression with us later.
