Texas TOTS of 2010!

Ever since we moved to Dallas, Krish and I have been staying very busy with our new playgroup, Texas TOTs of 2010!  We have such a great time with our group and have made so many new friends.   Needless to say, we are very thankful for finding it.  Some of the playgroup activities we have participated in so far are below.

Keshav Visits Krish in Dallas!

After OKC, Vivek Kaka, Krishna Kaki and Keshav came back to Dallas with us for a visit!  Krish was so excited to have his little brother over to play with!  He showed him all his toys and games in his playroom, but Keshav loved the slide the most.  It was the perfect size for him!  Keshav was a fun buddy to play with and was very good at sharing.  The two of them are definitely going to create some wonderful memories together over the years!

In addition to playing at home, Krish wanted to take Keshav to the mall to ride on the "Up and Down" (carousel) again like we did in Houston.  Not only did we ride on the carousel, but we were lucky to be able to take a ride on the Choo Choo Train as well!

Of course a reunion with baby cousins is sometimes never complete without a shared bath, so both brothers had a bath together at Dada and Ba's house the night before everybody had to leave back to Boston.  Here's to a memory they created!  (We'll see how they feel about us after they see these bath pictures when they are older.) :)

Last weekend, after Krish's blastball game, we drove to OKC to celebrate CC Kaka's 70th birthday with the entire family!  It was an amazing family reunion, especially for the kids!  Krish was so excited to reunite with his cousins, Lila Bhen, Diya Bhen and Keshav.  They all had so much fun at CC Kaka's birthday party singing happy birthday in the microphone and anticipating the cutting of the golf cake!

They missed Keshav at the party but had a blast hanging out with him the next day at home.  They played with flash cards and jumped on the air mattress while the adults played a Shah family rendition of a CC Kaka-themed Family Feud game.  They also sat for lunch together so nicely!  They had a wonderful time together, and I'm sure they miss each other very much.  As usual, we always look forward to our next family reunion!

Lets Play Ball!!

Last weekend was definitely one of the busiest weekends yet for us since we moved back to Dallas.  First, Krish had his very first Blastball game on Saturday morning before we left on our overnight trip to Oklahoma City to celebrate CC Kaka's 70th Birthday with all the family.

Blastball is basically the toddler version of Tee-ball where each batter hits a whiffle ball off of a Tee with a foam baseball bat.  The toddler then proceeds to run to the one and only base (in the location of first base) and jumps on it causing the base to squeak!  Meanwhile, the opposing team in the field has to catch or acquire the whiffle ball, and once a toddler has possession of the ball, the whole team yells "Blastball".  After each player on the team has batted once, the teams switch places so that each team gets to bat twice and field twice.  Very sweet.  Very simple.  We loved it!

 We joined the Blastball League with our Playgroup and formed three teams, Little Tornadoes, Little Monsters and Wild Things.  Krish is on the Little Tornadoes and he loves every second of playing Blastball.  We have had two practices since our first game and our first game last Saturday.  Every second of it all has just been glorious for him.  He loves playing sports and is a natural athlete!

The first game was quite a huge ordeal as well!  There was a parade that all the teams marched in with the Captain of the Texas Rangers, an opening ceremony consisting of speeches from the Mayor of Hurst and Rangers players, and then the Little Tornadoes first ever Blastball game!

Krish was an excellent batter and outfielder as well.  He practically chased down all the balls except when giving turns to his teammates!  He is a very good team player.  Daddy and Mommy were very excited for him and very proud of him, to say the least.
