Sidewalk Chalk!

Yesterday morning Krish played with sidewalk chalk for the first time!  He had so much fun using different colors to draw pictures in the backyard with Daddy and Mommy!  We drew a putting green, some balls, and a school bus.  We even had an enlightening conversation with Krish about his excitement to start school!  I can't believe how fast my little man is growing up!

Now that I'm all caught up with updates since we moved to Houston, I wanted to post updates about our time in San Francisco as well.  There were too many memories with Krish there to not journal about them and share with everyone.  Since it all occurred a while ago now and I never finished blogging while we lived there, I thought it would be more organized to create an entirely separate blog just dedicated to our 2010-2011 year in San Francisco.

All Giggles...and Some Pleases!

Yesterday during snack time, Krish could not stop laughing at me trying to take a video of him!  At the same time, he wanted the camera and so was between giggles and "pleases" trying to acquire it.  It was the cutest thing I have ever seen!

Choo Choo Train Rides and Paddle Boats!

One of Krish's favorite things now is Choo Choo Trains!  From Thomas the Train and Chuggington to even plain, regular trains, he simply loves them!  I'm not even quite sure how he discovered them.  I think the craze started when Daddy brought home a Thomas the Train toy for him from Dallas one day.  He had also previously been enjoying some of the train sets he got for his 2nd birthday and definitely enjoyed all the various train and tram rides he took at Kemah Boardwalk and Disney World.

Regardless of the origin, we could not wait to take Krish for a ride on the big Choo Choo Train at the Houston Zoo!  The ride was about half an hour long and Krish was completely mesmerized!  He periodically shouted "choo choo"during the ride and sang "I've Been Working on the Railroad" the rest of the time.  He had a total blast with the whole family there!

Although it was incredibly hot, we also couldn't resist taking him on his very first paddle boat ride!  He wasn't as excited as he was on the choo choo train, but he definitely looked fascinated as it was his first experience.  During the ride, we went through the fountain to cool off and saw a mother duck and seven cute, baby ducklings!  I think Krish and Nana had the most fun that morning!

Well, everybody said it would be a girl...the pregnancy symptoms were so different from the last pregnancy that it had to be a girl.  Not quite so!!!  The Shah family is stoked to announce that Krish will soon have a little, baby brother to make mischief with all over the place! Mommy and Daddy couldn't be more excited and can't wait to invite our little guy into the world on November 25, 2012 in DALLAS, TEXAS!!!

That's right, we're moving back to the Big D in August 2012! :)

Gymboree Music Class

Krish recently tried a Gymboree Music class to learn all about music.  He has such an interest in singing and musical instruments that we thought he might enjoy a class like this.  He is always singing nursery rhymes and playing on the piano, drums, and tabla at Nana and Nani's house.  

His favorite part of the class was singing nursery rhymes on the microphones and discovering music through all the various, musical instruments the class provided.  He had a lot of fun in the class, but I think he enjoys running around and expending his energy a little more.  Besides, he is so lucky to get the real experience of playing a piano and drums at Nana and Nani's!

Summer Fun!!!

Summer is in full-swing here in Texas, and what better way to enjoy a Texas summer than to go swimming!  Unlike our summers in San Francisco, it is too hot here to continue enjoying the parks.  We, therefore, go to the pools and splash pads at least 4-5 times a week!  And Krish is not complaining!  He loves the water!  We even set up the inflatable pool and slip'n'slide in the backyard once in a while.

He has been having a lot of play time fun with Atul Masa and Tricia Masi as well.  He loves having them over and showing them all of his toys!

Learning Daddy's Favorite Sport

Daddy loves taking Krish to the Driving Range and teaching him how to play golf.  He tries to take him as often as possible and would take him everyday if he had the chance!  Right now, the mornings are still really nice and breezy so we head out to the driving range first thing in the morning.

Daddy and Dada even got Krish his own set of golf clubs!  Right-handed ones from Dada and Left-handed ones from Daddy incase Krish takes after him! :)  They are a little heavy for Krish so he still likes to use his purple Fisher-Price ones, but I think he is slowly breaking them in.  He takes a couple practice swings on the range, but mostly plays with the golf balls and sorts the yellow ones from the white ones.  Soon he will be strong enough to really enjoy his new clubs, and I think he will take after Daddy and Dada and love the game of golf!  We all have such a great time together on the range.  I foresee a lot of family rounds of golf being played in our future!

Tricia Masi's Big Day!!!

After Krish was fast asleep last night, Atul Kaka had planned to take Tricia Masi for a surprise evening out.  He arranged for her to get all dressed up in a new dress and shoes and to get her hair and make-up professionally styled.  Once she was ready, he came and picked her up in a limo from his sister Shivani's apartment and took her to a romantic, private dinner overlooking Lake Conroe.  There, he got down on one knew and asked her to marry him!  Of course she said yes!!!

When the limo brought them home after dinner, we were all waiting anxiously to congratulate them, feed them sweets, and hear all about the details of the proposal!  We were all so happy for them, and needless to say, the couple was glowing and looked absolutely stunning!  Krish is so happy to have a Tricia Masi and an Atul MASA now! :)

Tanya Masi's and Tricia Masi's Birthday Weekend!

 

Krish had the best time celebrating Tanya and Tricia Masis' Birthday this past weekend!  He really enjoyed their company and Roshan Kaka's too.  He loves when they visit! :)  They did everything together, from going to the swimming pool to playing in the inflatable backyard pool and slip 'n' slide to playing with his race car track to dancing to the Hokey Pokey!  He had such an amazing time with them all weekend long and really misses them now that they're gone!  A personal request from Krish is to visit again soon!!

Mother's Day!

I had the best Mother's Day ever with my Cutie pie this year.  We made Mother's Day cards together with finger paint for Ba and Nani, while Daddy helped Krish make a beautiful hand-drawn card with a picture of Mommy and Krish on the front.  Ba and Dada also came to visit from Dallas!  We had a nice dinner together at Sankalp where Krish ate fried idli!  Later on, we went to Nani and Nana's house to cut a Mother's Day cake with them.  Krish, of course, loved singing the song, blowing out the candles, and eating the Oreo cookies on top!

Mommy's Birthday!

I had a fabulous time celebrating my birthday this year!  I was feeling nauseated from my first trimester, but I still managed to enjoy a Sprinkles chocolate cupcake from Neil, a nice family dinner at one of my favorite restaurants, Lasagna House, and a piece of cookies 'n' cream ice cream cake my mom brought for me.  I am so spoiled!

The best present of all, however, was Krish waking me up in the morning with a birthday cookie treat with the the number 29 candle on it.  He sang Happy Birthday to me and wished me a Happy Birthday all day long.  I am the luckiest mommy in the world.  He is and always will be my little sweetheart!
