2017 Christmas Holidays in Raleigh/Durham and Asheville, N.C. Visiting Tanya Masi & Alfredo Masa!

This past Christmas, we visited Tanya Masi and Alfredo Masa in Raleigh/Durham where they moved after their wedding! They made the holidays very special with a lot of fun family activities planned.

On our first night in town, Tanya Masi took us to a Duke basketball game. Only Pranav Mama and Krish were able to attend, but they had a blast! And Arjun had a blast reuniting with North! He missed her so much!

The next day, we headed on a road trip up to Asheville, NC. Asheville is a beautiful tourist town! When we got there, we rode on the Polar Express to Santa’s Workshop at the North Pole! Our train ride was complete with musical entertainment by the Hot Chocolate Chefs, carol singing, hot chocolate, and cookies! The boys even met with Santa, gave him their letters and got a magic silver bell from his sleigh!

The following day in Asheville, we visited the impressive Omni Grove Park Inn in the mountains to check out the National Gingerbread House Competition.  Not only was the Omni resort memorable, but so was the gingerbread competition!  There was a life-size gingerbread house in the main lobby where they served the most delicious hot chocolate and gingerbread men cookies!  The competition, itself, included dozens of creative submissions displayed all throughout the resort.  Arjun adamantly wanted to participate next year and submit a gingerbread house creation of his own!

Downtown Asheville was another exciting place to visit.  We walked around the main streets and visited little boutique shops and a yummy chocolate boutique!  Mommy's favorite!  There, Pranav Mama presented everyone with their Christmas gift (inspired by Daddy's love for spicy food) and Daddy, Pranav Mama, Alfredo Masa and Tanya Masi all participated in the Paqui One Chip Challenge!  It is a challenge to finish an entire tortilla chip covered in the spiciest pepper - the Carolina Reaper Pepper!  The boys were highly concerned watching their grownups fall apart before their eyes, but thank goodness Mommy was still in commission!  The videos are highly entertaining and definitely speak for themselves!  Make sure to take a look!

We also celebrated Christmas together on the 24th and everyone enjoyed opening their gifts!
