Arjun's First Haircut!

After Arjun turned one in November, he got his very first haircut on December 10th!  Although he thoroughly enjoyed the experience, I was not ready for this at all!  His hair had been growing long with his bangs covering his eyes for over a month, but I was so sad to see my baby's little locks being trimmed for the very first time.

He loved it!

I think his haircut signified the end of the infancy chapter in his life and in ours.  We enjoyed his infancy so much, and I'm pretty sure he is our last baby.  I made sure to soak in every second of his babyhood, but it's still so hard to see your baby grow up!  He is definitely not a little baby anymore.  Now that he is almost 14 months, he is toddling and exploring around the house like a teeny, tiny tot!  Just like his older brother, he is a bundle of energy and won't sit still for even a second!  He is as curious as ever and wants to explore and study everything around him!  When I say study, I mean observe, ponder, and put in his mouth!  He is just as cute as Krish was at this age, but we're definitely in a different chapter from babyhood now.  I'm excited to see what this new chapter has in store for us, and I'm enjoying every second of it as well!

Holidays with the Shahs Part II: Christmas Play Date!

One of the festive activities we enjoyed over the holidays was inviting all of our play group friends over for a Christmas play date!  We had yummy Rudolph PB&J sandwiches, and all of the kids loved making their own fingerprint Rudolph ornaments!  Even Arjun and Sahil (Soumia's little brother who is only 2 months older than Arjun) made keepsake ornaments!

Hanging out while everyone arrives!

Big sister Soumia was so sweet to help Sahil with his ornament!

Arjun was excited for his turn!

Mommy sure loves crafting with her boys!

After snacks and ornament making, we all cuddled up in the media room and enjoyed watching a Christmas movie (Rudolph and Frosty) and having Christmas popcorn together!

Holidays with the Shahs Part I: Snow Weekend

This past holiday season, we enjoyed as much family time as we could given December is Daddy's busiest work month of the year.  Luckily, it snowed the first weekend of December enabling some quiet family time at home for a relaxing change after Tricia Masi's and Atul Masa's wedding the weekend prior.

If it weren't for being at home, we would never have found the time with Daddy around to put our tree and Christmas decorations up.  This year was Arjun's second Christmas, and it was so interesting to see how much he has grown since he was just one month old last Christmas.  He is truly a little toddler now.  He can walk and he converses with you all the time in "baby talk".  He says "Mama", "Dada", and "Hi".  He is very musical and loves to sing!  His favorite songs that he sings back to you are "Lou, Lou, Skip to my Lou" in "da da das" and "Jingle Bells"!  His ability to walk now has also lead to quite an interest in the Christmas tree, as we predicted.  He loves touching all the ornaments and, of course, trying to pull them off.  He was so fascinated by the ornaments and lights though, and it was so much fun to see that.

Krish also loves this time of year, and it was so great to see the two brothers interacting and enjoying the holiday culture together.

So fascinated with the tree and ornaments!

eventually pulled off the tree.

Sweet Brothers Love Each Other!

The snowy weekend also led to a family photo session at home in front of the tree that allowed us to make a holiday card to send to all our family and friends!

Daddy's Nose!

Ever since Arjun started pointing (about a month ago), his favorite thing to point to is your nose!  Here is a fun clip we caught of Arjun playing with Daddy and pointing to his nose when he came home from work.  Both boys love when Daddy gets home from work so they can play with him again!

Good Morning Cutie Pie!

Our happy little cutie pie!

When Arjun wakes up from his morning nap, he is so cute and so fresh!  He is always so happy to see me come get him that I had to capture a video to show Daddy what happens while he's at work!  It just melts my heart to see his happy, smiley face everyday!  I certainly am the luckiest mommy in the world to get to spend this amazing, quality time watching my babies grow up!  Daddy sure looks forward to spending that kind of time with his little man on the weekends!

Trick-or-Treating!

Mater and McQueen - Best Buds for Life!
This Halloween, Krish and Arjun dressed up as Lightning McQueen and Tow Truck Mater!  Krish changed his mind several times before finalizing his decision to be McQueen.  He first chose to be a minion from Despicable Me, then the blue, square Angry Bird, and then he finally chose Lightning McQueen!  Of course, Lightning McQueen  has to have his sidekick and best buddy by his side, and just like Lightning McQueen and Mater, Krish and Arjun are best buds for life!

In the evening, we went trick-or-treating in our busy neighborhood, and Krish had a blast again just like he did last year!  Unfortunately Arjun was already asleep, but Dada, Ba, Tanya Masi/Snow White, and Daddy and I were able to join in on the fun!  The highlight of the night and outstanding memory of this Halloween was trick-or-treating at Dallas Cowboys' running back, Demarco Murray's house!  He lives on our street, and Krish was so excited to go to his house.  Since Krish is always watching the Cowboys' games every Sunday with Daddy, he even already knew who he was!  The funny part was when Dada went to take a picture, Krish went and stood next to his wife and new baby!  Kids are so innocent and cute!  Needless to say, we had quite a memorable Halloween this year!  But then again, last year was quite memorable too!

Mama had to get a picture with a celebrity too!

Snow White and McQueen!  Having fun with Masi!

His favorite candies this year were the Angry Birds ring pops Mama brought!

Choo Choo Soul Jams!

Some of our family's favorite jams come from Disney's Choo Choo Soul.  The kids love dancing to those jams, and Krish has been listening to them since he turned 2!  Here is a cute clip from this summer of the boys dancing to "Vegetables Give You a Super Power".  If you're looking for some new music for your little ones, I would highly recommend this album!
