White Ghost Play Date!

On Friday, Krish and I hosted our very first play date at our house!  All of our group's home play dates have a theme and we were given the White Ghost-themed Halloween play date.  We were very excited to host a little Halloween party and have all our friends over!  Krish and I talked about it and prepared for it all week!  We were supposed to read a story about a cute little ghost and make a fun ghost craft together.  Unfortunately, one of the mom's who had the story couldn't make it in the end, but all the tots still got to make the ghost craft Mommy put together!

The moms also made different ghost or fall snacks for everyone, including ghost pretzels, pumpkin bars, and apple cider!  Mommy and Krish had fun making ghost cheese and crackers together for our play group friends to enjoy!

Dallas World Aquarium with Zena Foi!

We stayed very busy this past week! We started it out by visiting the Dallas World Aquarium with Zena Foi on Tuesday.  The last aquarium Krish had been to was the Montery Bay Aquarium in Monterey, CA when he was 5 months old!  Krish also has so much fun with Zena Foi, so he had a fabulous time here, to say the least!

This aquarium was very different, too.  It was designed to make you feel like you are traveling through a rain forest!  There were more animals to see than just marine life.  There were primates, tropical birds, bats, sloths, and even a jaguar, to name a few!  Krish definitely had a blast!  He got excited to see the bats since we have been talking a lot about Halloween this month, and they reminded him of Halloween bats.  He loved the shark tank and couldn't wait to see the sharks!  He was intrigued by the pink flamingoes and jaguar, and he loved getting to feed some of the tropical birds right out of his hand!  Another unique aspect to this aquarium that we were all impressed by was that some of the animal exhibits were not even caged!  For instance, the sloths were just hanging on trees right in front of us!  You could touch them if it was allowed.

We all had such a great time visiting the zoo-like aquarium.  Thank you to Zena Foi for suggesting such a fun outing for all of us to take together! :)

Visiting the Pumpkin Patch!

Hello Scarecrow!
To continue with the fall festivities for October, this morning we visited the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch with our play group.  Krish was very excited for this outing!  He was looking forward to seeing the pumpkins and going on a hay ride!  Little did he know he was going to see all his favorite characters there as well!  He also had lots of fun bouncing in the bounce houses and on the obstacle courses!  Now all we need to do is take Daddy with us to all these fun, festive Halloween places. :)

Pumpkin & Bumpkin Fun!!!

Today, we participated in a very unique, fun-filled fall tradition with our play group called Pumpkin & Bumpkin Fun!

This year will probably be the last for this tradition since, next year, our tots will be at an age where they will probably not be okay with us painting their bare bums orange and stamping them on a poster to look like a pumpkin!  It's a pretty cute tradition though, you have to admit! :)

So many, many bumpkins!!

All the toddlers were so cute too.  They each took their turn, one by one, getting their bums painted and stamping them.  Some of them were a little uncomfortable with the idea and cried while others were amused or indifferent.  Krish is pretty cooperative in activities so he looked intrigued.  He was so proud of his completed bumpkin in the end!

After the bumpkin painting, the kids all played at Reese's house while enjoying some yummy fall and pumpkin snacks including pumpkin bread, pumpkin dip, pumpkin pie croissants and cinnamon apple chips that Krish so enthusiastically helped me make for his play group.

We had such a great time preparing for and participating in today's fall activity.  We really love our play group!  We can't wait to see what the rest of the month has in store for us!

Fall Fun at the Arboretum!

Happy October!  Krish and I rang in this year's autumn season at the Dallas Arboretum with our Texas TOTS buddies!  The Arboretum is so beautiful this time of year and is a wonderful place for great photo opportunities.  Not to mention, Krish and the rest of the tots loved seeing all the different colored pumpkins of various sizes.

Krish also loved playing in the petting zoo as usual!  He pet and brushed the fur of the goats, sheep and donkey.  He also saw chickens, and his favorite animal was the little bunny rabbit!
He was so excited to see the goats!
