Projects with Krish!

During the winter, it was nice to have projects planned for Krish when we had to be indoors.  Since one of his favorite activities is playing with play-dough, we recently took on a project of making our own play-dough at home!  We love finding DIY projects for kids on Pinterest and luckily found a wonderful homemade play-dough recipe we could use! At 4 years old, certain projects, such as this one, are really enjoyable for him.  Just like in baking, Krish really enjoys doing as much as he can independently, such as measuring and incorporating each ingredient all by himself (gives us a chance to discuss math and the measurements), mixing the ingredients by himself (fine and gross motor skills), cooking the play-dough on the stove with Mama's supervision (cooking exposure and skills), dividing up the cooked and cooled play-dough in equal parts to make different colors (more math), and finally adding color and molding the dough.  In baking, he loves measuring and mixing the ingredients, and he also loves using cookie cutters to make different cookie shapes and watching the cookies as they bake in the oven!
