Krish's Pre-K End-of-the-Year Play: ONE

Things have definitely picked up and become busy this last month of summer!  Although I can't wait to blog about our amazing Jamaica vacation at the beginning of this month, I have recently been cleaning off my computer and phone and came across all these wonderful memories from this past school year I just had to post.  Before Krish's Kindergarten year and Arjun's first year in school begins next week, I have to share some memorable moments from this past year first!

Krish's Pre-K year at Greenhill School was absolutely amazing, and we all just fell in love with the school.  They did a lot of special things in their class, and we are all very excited about his upcoming year in Kindergarten!  Towards the end of the year, their class performed a play of the storybook, One during their Week of the Young Child celebrationand all the parents were invited to their music hall to watch.

All the kids were absolutely adorable, and it was such a treat to see them singing and performing together and catch a glimpse of what they do in class everyday.  Krish loves watching this video, and it's so sweet to see how excited he gets while watching himself and his friends perform!

After the play, the kids took the parents to explore their labyrinth project, a structure they all built together as a class by laying one brick at a time, and it almost looked like the parents were having more fun than the kids walking through the giant maze!

We can't wait to see what the next year in school has in store for Krish!

Six Flags on Father's Day!

This Father's Day, Daddy had one request: to go to Six Flags!  Since Dada had been mentioning it too since the start of the summer, that's exactly where we went.  I had no idea how much the Shah men love roller coasters!  They couldn't wait to introduce the world of fast-paced thrilling rides to the little Shah men, Krish and Arjun!

Happy Father's Day!  Starting out slow on the Carousel...

Then on to the Sombrero….speeding up….

Having fun getting dizzy on the teacups!

Finale on the Pirate's Ship!

Krish was not a fan of the pirate ship and Momma was not surprised!

Arjun's favorite: truck driving Daddy around!

The boys also enjoyed making homemade crafts for Daddy and Dada as they usually do.  This year they made golf tee porcupines for them so they don't lose their golf tees!

Just as much as they enjoy making the gifts, they love watching Daddy open them as well!

We love all the Dads in our life!  Happy Father's Day!

Tanya Masi and Tricia Masi's Birthday at Lake Conroe!

After arriving home from our Maine trip, we immediately left for Houston two days later to visit Nana, Nani, Dada and Dadi and celebrate Tanya Masi and Tricia Masi's birthday at Lake Conroe with the whole family!  Arjun definitely loves going on boats and Krish definitely felt a little more cautious, especially with Nana's adventurous driving!  Atul Masa, Tricia Masi, Tanya Masi and Daddy also went on the tube, while Nana, Nani, Dada, Shivani Masi and I hung out on the boat.  Krish and Arjun really enjoyed swimming in the lake with Daddy and Atul Masa!  Dadi stayed back on the marina so we missed her on the boat.  She made friends with the staff, though, who were really impressed with her crocheting skills!

Maine Trip Part IV: Cape Elizabeth and York's Wild Kingdom!

On our last full day in Maine, we made sure to see the Portland Head Light, Maine's oldest lighthouse, in Cape Elizabeth.  It was an extremely cold and windy day, but we had a blast climbing all the huge stones along the coast nonetheless.  Afterwards, Shaulnie recommended this awesome local bakery in south Portland called Scratch Baking Company.  It was awesome!  For lunch, we enjoyed fresh-made deli sandwiches and yummy baked goods such as brownies and tarts.  It is definitely a "must-do" for any tourist visiting Cape Elizabeth and the Portland Head Light!

From Cape Elizabeth, we headed to York's Wild Kingdom in York, Maine to meet Krishna Kaki, Keshav and Vidya for a zoo and amusement park adventure en route to Boston!  Unfortunately to Arjun's dismay, the amusement park was closed till the beginning of their summer season (July on the east coast).  Nonetheless, under Keshav's guidance, the kids had a blast visiting with and feeding all the animals at the zoo!  Thank you so much to Krishna Kaki for planning such awesome family outings for us while on our vacation!  We all had an amazing time!  Momma even got a chance to stop by the Stonewall Kitchen Campus Store to buy some specialty spreads in York before heading back to Boston!

Checking out the various primates! The kids learned so
much from Keshav and his love for animals!

Feeding the ducks!

These kids were not afraid to feed the goats!

Crocodile exhibit!

Checking out the primates again!

Arjun absolutely loved seeing the llamas and
they reminded him of his Llama Llama
bedtime story books!  He even recited one
of the books to this llama here and told him,
"Hold on Mr. Llama, I'll go get my book from
home!"

First time paddle boating in the duck pond! The boys loved it!
