Tanya Masi and Tricia Masi's 25th Birthday!

Tanya Masi and Tricia Masi turned 25 on their birthday (June 15th) this year, and Krish and Arjun were just thrilled to celebrate with them!  For their birthday, Nani and I booked them an appointment with a personal shopper at Nordstrom to get a fun and trendy new wardrobe look fit for a twenty-five year old!  Tanya Masi and Tricia Masi did the same thing for me when I turned 30, and I loved it!

After trying on some new outfits and picking the best ones, we visited a quaint, yet trendy, little gem of a neighborhood in town called The Bishop Arts District.  Neil and I frequent it regularly for our weekend date nights because the restaurant choices are phenomenal!  We were excited to take Tanya Masi, Tricia Masi, and Nana there to celebrate their birthday and Father's Day with a yummy brunch at the ever-popular Oddfellows!  After brunch, we wished them a happy birthday at one of our favorite dessert shops, Emporium Pies.  Their "Smooth Operator" is absolutely scrumptious!  I think Krish and Arjun liked this part of the day the best.  They got to do their favorite things: sing Happy Birthday to their Masis and eat some yummy sweet treats, pie a la mode!

Memorial Day Weekend and the Upcoming 4th of July!

In anticipation and celebration of the upcoming 4th of July, Krish is going to a "Hooray for the USA" summer class this week at his new school, Greenhill School!  Ever since Memorial Day, he loves learning about our country and is very excited about the camp!

The week before Memorial Day, Krish learned some things about the USA in his Primrose class, including the red, white, and blue colors, our nation's flag, our national anthem, and what the USA looks like.  At home, we took it a step further and learned all the 50 states!  We learned one of Mama's favorite songs as a kid, Fifty Nifty United States, and it has now become one of Krish's favorites!  He loves singing it in the car, and did an excellent job singing it on the way to Houston for Halie Foi's wedding!  Now he knows the names of all 50 states!

In addition, during Memorial Day weekend, Nana and Nani came to visit, and Krish had a blast putting together his United States puzzle with Nana and identifying all 50 states!  He even gave each one of them a tiny USA flag when he was done.  What a fun way to introduce the subject of our beautiful country to a little one!

In his upcoming Hooray for the USA class, Krish and classmates will celebrate the USA with the patriotic red, white and blue through American crafts, games, songs, and stories.  They will even cook with the three colors and make some yummy treats!  They will also write letters and mail them to U.S. soldiers!  We are so excited about this opportunity for Krish and can't wait to hear about his experience each day!  It's nice to see him so excited too!

Father's Day Weekend!

We LOVE Daddy!

This past weekend we celebrated Father's Day with Daddy and Dada and did their favorite things!  On Sunday morning Daddy, Dada and Krish played golf at Riverchase Golf Club in Coppell, TX.  Riverchase is one of Dada's favorite golf courses.  Krish, Arjun, Ba, Mota Kaka, Kaki, and I all joined Daddy and Dada on the back nine and Krish got to practice his techniques (from what he's learned at his golf classes) and play the rest of the course with them!  Daddy and Dada were so proud of him!

Arjun loved running around the green while everyone

Later that afternoon, we all got together at Ba and Dada's for a delicious home-cooked Indian dinner and some swimming!  The boys absolutely love swimming and playing in the pool.  Krish recently got over the swimming phobia he developed last summer after an overwhelming experience in swim class. He now swims confidently all over Ba and Dada's pool with his arm floats on!  Of course Arjun just loves the water.  It is so great to see both brothers enjoying the pool so much together!  Daddy and Dada sure had a great time swimming with them on Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day!

The boys were excited to give Daddy the Father's Day gifts they made for him including homemade footprint keepsake signs (a continuation of a project we started for Valentine's Day back in February), an awesome coffee mug idea we got from The Munshis, and a cute photo collage put together with the boys pictures.  Daddy also likes to try fresh new shampoos and conditioners so we picked up a fun lavender scent duo at Whole Foods for him to try!
