Trick-or-Treat!!!

Krish had the best time ever on Halloween this year!  And consequently, we had so much fun too!  He absolutely loved trick-or-treating!  I definitely think it was his best age, by far, for us as parents to see how much he understood and enjoyed this day and tradition.

First Ba and Dada came over with a fun Halloween surprise for Krish!  They brought him a Halloween goody bag and jar with candy, socks, stickers, straw and other fun knick-knacks.  They also gave him a festive, jack-o-lantern cookie pop!  All of our play group's Halloween activities for the month prepared him really well for this day.  He was extremely into everything!  "Oooooo, Halloween candy!" he would say when he was given a Halloween treat.

He was dressed up as the cutest Thomas the Train, and we all soaked up every second of trick-or-treating with him!  He was so engrossed in visiting all the "Halloween houses" (houses that had some kind of Halloween or fall decorations in front of them) and collecting candy from all the neighbors.  He would study the candy so intently from a neighbor's basket to his own pumpkin pail.  It was so darn cute!  He was so proud of the candy he collected and didn't let go of his pumpkin all night!  I thought he would have a feast when we got home, but he was actually very sweet and cooperative.  He picked out one mini candy bar and shared it with all four of us while putting the rest of the candy and his pumpkin away for the rest of the night!  We have such a good little boy...when the mood strikes him!

During trick-or-treating, he was also very excited to see a gigantic spider (although he was a  little scared of it), a vampire Winnie the Pooh, and a moving spooky tree among the decorations around the neighborhood.  We even saw some very well decorated pumpkins and carved jack-o-lanterns!

I most definitely enjoyed celebrating with Krish all month long!  From crafting together to trick-or-treating, the whole month of October exemplified why I enjoy staying home with him so much!

Hay Rides and Mazes!

We certainly had quite an eventful fall season this year!  We're only one month into it, and we feel like we've done everything you can think of!  From various pumpkin patches and the Arboretum to Halloween play dates and parties, I think we covered it all!  One last thing we did before the big Trick-or-Treating day was to take Daddy with us to one of our favorite Pumpkin Patches we visited with our play group--the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch!  It was so much fun and had so many activities for the kids, including bounce houses, hay rides, and a hay maze!  Since Krish enjoyed the hay ride so much and we didn't try the hay maze the first time, we decided to go back with Daddy.  It was worth it and definitely proved to be as excited as the first time!  In fact, Krish had been wanting to take Daddy on the hay ride ever since!

Family time on the hay ride!

Happy Halloween!!!

Our final Halloween play date of October was a Halloween Party at Reese's house.  All the tots came dressed up in their Halloween costumes and enjoyed yummy, creative Halloween snacks made by all the Mommies, a Pumpkin piƱata, photo sessions, Kristian's birthday, and general play time with their friends!

Krish's Halloween costume this year was Thomas the Train!  He picked it out himself and, like his costume last year, was so proud to wear it!  I think it was the perfect pick for him, and he looked super- adorable in his little conductor cap!  He did go back and forth deciding between it and the red Angry Birds costume.  (He tried on both at the costume store, and both seem to be his current favorite characters!)  However in the end, he went with his first fave, Thomas!  I had been really excited ever since we picked it out!  I love Halloween at Krish's age and getting to dress him up in cute little costumes!

As usual, Mommy and Krish had fun making a festive fall snack together to share with everyone!  This time we made a "Scarecrow Snack Mix" and it was a total hit!  Among other fun snacks, we had Frankenpudding cups, Spider crackers, Goblin Eyeballs, and Halloween cupcakes!
